Join us at the opening of the Making in Transit exhibition with a celebraiton of ICE.

This is the first in a series of unique events, which explores the topic of ice. Discover it's diversity and role in our world and our solar system. With talks from geographer Julia Feuer-Cotter (UK Polar Network) who will discuss geographical realities and imaginings of the Arctic; uncover the secrets of ice as a state of matter with Dr Gabriele Cesare Sosso (London Centre for Nanotechnology); and explore the poles of the planet Saturn and it's hexagonal weather with Ellie Armstrong (MA Art Science CSM, Oxford Univeristy).

Our ice themed workshops will begin with an ice-cream-making demonstration, looking at how ice-cream was made in the 18th century (tasting is much encouraged); and an experimental collaborative art piece using frozen ink and salt crystallisation. The piece will be exposed to the elements until our next event on the 15th December 2016 which is an exploration of the topic of - Transformation.

All ice cream knowledge is shared with great thanks to food historian and events producer Tasha Marks - the genious behind AMV Curiosities. The ice cream image below features AMV Curiosities' Georgian Ice cream stall. Although Tasha will not make it to our event she has prepared us and recommended recipies which will complement our ICE event perfectly - and kindly let us use her brilliant picture.

ALL FREE - ALL WELCOME
