All aboard the Antigua

The Antigua is a barquentine tall ship. The sensation of being at sea is very unusual at first and involved constant motion from all directions. Sea sickness can be avoided if you get out on deck so that visual observations match the sensation and do not confuse the senses too much and lead to vertigo or travel sickness.

Life on board the Antigua is very interesting. The organisation of the crew members is astonishing and while it maintains a hard, gritty, nonchalant attitude to the absurdity of being at sea, the consistent fascination that the entire crew share with nature, it's power and beauty is wonderful. Measuring all that you need to know about your environment in order to live on a sail boat in the High Arctic is something that I will investigate later but all crew members have wonderful fascinating unique lives that I couldn't have imagined as being a reality before having set foot on the Antigua.

So far - no sea sickness, and finding being part of this and helping out with setting sails and scraping ice off the deck fun and exciting.
